This is my second time back when visiting calgary. As a born peruvian, id recommend this place everytime, ordered the agi de gallina, anticuchos, picarones, and the crunchy shrimp. Food was amazing, the staff was nice and quick with service. There was a small cute patio outside for anyone who wants some sun(: Definitely coming back! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50

I had dinner here last night with my mum for a late mother’s day celebration and it was amazing! The food is absolutely delicious, I love the design of the place and the service is a 10/10! We had Robinson as our server and he was so nice and explained everything to us, as it was our first time having Peruvian food and it was such a lovely experience!! Thank you so much for such an awesome experience! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Second time visiting Sumaq, but my first time writing a review—and it’s well deserved! I was originally recommended this place by a Peruvian friend who said it’s one of the most authentic spots around. Her family regularly dines here, which says a lot. After visiting twice now, first with friends and then with my husband—I completely understand why. The food is absolutely delightful. I especially love the ceviche Sumaq, so fresh and perfectly balanced. My husband couldn’t get enough of the lomo saltado; he loved it so much! It’s incredibly flavorful and cooked just right. The pollo a la brasa is also delicious—honestly, every dish we’ve tried has been so good including Tallarines de Abuela and Empanadas. And don’t skip dessert—the picarones were the perfect sweet ending. Even the mocktails are refreshing and well made. The photos I’m sharing are a combination from both our first and second visits. We completely fell in love with the interior—the vibrant, elegant colors of Peru throughout the space create such a beautiful atmosphere. The vibe is warm and inviting, with a relaxing mood that makes you want to stay longer. Even the music adds to the experience. On top of the amazing food and ambiance, the staff are friendly, warm, and very attentive, which makes everything even better. We’ll definitely be coming back again!
