Michelin Guide rating

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking.
Good standard.

“Sababa,” which means “cool” in Hebrew slang, is exactly as advertised. This ode to the Middle East is awash in Mediterranean tiles. But despite the hip digs, it’s all about food here. The fine-tuned menu features Israeli salads, dips and kebabs, but small plates are its heart and soul. Start with salatim, a five-salad starter... More info

A fantastic dinner last night at Sababa, on our first visit. Rating a casual ethnic restaurant like this with five stars is not the same as five stars for the best French restaurant in Washington DC, but for the type of restaurant and experience it was it deserves five stars. Delicious drinks, fantastic food, and a charming server named Yousef. A gift certificate drew us there, but without question we'll be back. We loved it. Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection

Great experience here. We sat at the bar and Mackenzie had an awesome sense of humor while giving excellent drink and food recommendations. It was the kind of genuine service that has been hard to come by lately, especially with how stressful and fast-paced the restaurant industry has become. Really appreciated the hospitality. Price per person: $60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Amos, Thank you for your glowing feedback on our Mackenzie. New to the bartending role, we are so pleased with her progress, and yes, genuine is exactly how we would describe her. We hope to see you at our new and improved Sababa bar happy hour with $9 Martinis.
