Looks are deceiving. Your choices are limited if you're stuck around Sabre Drive in Port Melbourne without having to venture off to Bay Street. Sabre Cafe has an impressive menu at great prices would be your first impression. Being a crazed burger lover, the Sabre Burger with 230 grams of Angus beef, bacon, avocado, cheese, lettuce, tomato relish and mayo along with a side of chips was a natural selection. Unfortunately, to the distaste of my hunger, the burger was dry, using little tomato relish and what seemed like store bought mayo that didn't go well with the burger. The patty wasn't fresh and tasted like it was reheated. The burger was in a roll instead of a bun. The chips were the only decent item on the plate but the quantity was small for $3. I saw the calamari with garden salad and chicken parmigiana going out, they were large, but couldn't comment on the taste. They looked good, but going by the burger, there's no motivation to go back again to try them. The atmosphere was okay, nothing noteworthy. The staff looked uninterested and no napkins or cutlery were served with the burger.  You have to find some on the counter. Yes, it's cheap, but for what you're getting, it works out to be expensive for your taste buds. Make the trip to Bay Street instead, it's worth the extra 10 minute drive. Update: The owner of Sabre Café contacted me via Yelp, explaining to me how my review is an 'infringement' to his business. Honest reviews are apparently misleading and incorrect. I want to express my disgust that I took the time to reply back to his message only to be met with a condescending attitude. I offered to try his café again, but was met with sarcasm and an invitation to not return. I will gladly follow this advice. After trying several more burgers at other establishments and even homemade, I am still utterly disappointed of the burger offering in this café. Potential customers take caution when reviewing this establishment; the owner has also given his café 5 stars on Google reviews and Facebook. Please don't be intimidated by providing honest feedback and reviews, because I am dumbfounded for the lack of respect some business owners have towards consumers who are trying to give honest and constructive feedback to deliver a better product.
