We opted for the Wazwan Trami, which was a breathtaking array of flavors. The platter featured succulent kababs, perfectly crisped tabak maaz, richly flavored rista, and an aromatic dhaniwal korma. The hareesa was sublime, the roghan josh was tender and fragrant, and the meal culminated with the classic, velvety gushtaba. Each dish was a testament to expert craftsmanship. These were beautifully accompanied by steamed rice, uniquely flavorful bamboo biryani, and flaky, buttery Malabar parathas.
The presentation elevated the experience entirely—served in traditional Kashmiri serveware. it was both visually stunning and culturally immersive.
Service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. A sweet highlight was the kesar phirni, whose delicate cardamom and saffron notes provided the perfect finale. We were also graciously served traditional Kashmiri kahwa and soothing noon chai on the house—a lovely, warming touch.
The most memorable gesture was when the owner personally visited our table to ensure our satisfaction. This genuine hospitality is what transforms a great meal into a lasting memory and guarantees our return.
I will be recommending Kashmir Roots to everyone.
