Stopped in for lunch and got a spread of different things to try. Everything was really fresh and delicious! Great service- staff was kind and attentive .Took a couple cookies home for later and honestly one of the best cookies we’ve ever had. We’ll be back for dinner and cocktails soon! We had a great first experience at Sagra Italia this past Saturday night. It’s a newer spot downtown (opened in November), and it definitely exceeded expectations. Parking downtown can be a hassle, but they share valet service with the restaurant next door—which made things easy right from the start. We were greeted right away by a friendly hostess and told about a 20-minute wait. True to her word, we were seated almost exactly on time. While waiting, we grabbed drinks at the bar—excellent craft cocktails and very personable bartenders. The whole place has a great energy. Service here is a little different, but in a good way. It’s more of a fast-casual model: • Drinks at the bar • Order food at a separate counter • Food is brought to your table • Self-serve water (conveniently set up) • You bus your own table when finished Honestly, we didn’t mind this at all. It keeps things moving and likely helps keep costs down—which shows in the pricing. Very reasonable for the quality you’re getting. Now the most important part—the food. Outstanding. High-quality, clearly homemade, and full of flavor. I had the tagliatelle marinara with sausage and it was fantastic. Generous portion too—plenty left for lunch the next day. Overall, a really strong addition to the Rochester food scene. Great atmosphere, efficient concept, friendly staff, and excellent food. We’ll definitely be back. My friend and I stopped into Sagra for lunch, and for a new restaurant, they’re already off to a great start. The Italian food was delicious, and the homemade egg noodles really stood out — you can taste the freshness in every bite. I ordered the bolognese, and it was hearty, flavorful, and beautifully balanced with those fresh noodles. Our meals came out incredibly fast, about five minutes after ordering, which was impressive for a lunch service. My friend had the marinara pasta and added a chicken cutlet, and she really enjoyed her dish. We also shared an espresso brown sugar chocolate chip cookie for dessert, and it was warm, rich, and the perfect sweet ending. Sagra is definitely a spot I’d return to as they continue to grow — great flavors, quick service, and a very promising start.
