Staying in Gumbet, we thought we would try the classier looking restaurants in Bodmin. We hadn't booked anywhere - which you really should in the harbour side restaurants, but Sait had some room I the back (not as nice as eating out front of course). It is a little expensive and the fish courses are small (octopus leg was tiny), but the quality was good and the guy serving us was very pleasant.Meze were very good.

Pure scam! They lure you in and once you are in they scam you. We paid 200 TL for 3 cokes and 1 rakı.Pay attention to what you order! We left because they were too intrusive!

Beautiful setting but sadly I also had a bad experience here, where like many places in Bodrum, if they see you’re a tourist they’ll try to rip you off. I was shown the broad selection of fish by the waiter, all great looking fish, probably caught a few meters away. I asked him to weigh the fish I’d selected as the fish looked a good size for two people. He queried with his manager and then said it would cost 160TL for the fish (that’s about £25), which I thought was pretty reasonable for the two of us. He said he’d cut it in half and we would have a fillet each. A little later, the fish arrived - well actually, half the fish, served with a few green leaves and a spring onion - barely enough food for one person. I called the waiter over and asked him where the other half of the fish had disappeared to and he said I’d misunderstood him, which I definitely hadn’t. As if £50 for a fish is a normal price in a seaside town in Turkey?! I wouldn’t pay that price in the finest restaurant in London. Anyhow, after some dispute I ended up sending the fish back to kitchen where it would probably be fed to one of the many stray cats in the area, settled my bill for some over priced prawns and wine and left the restaurant retaining some degree of dignity. Won’t be going back.
