This is a small, family-run Japanese restaurant managed by an elderly lady. Although it is located near Kaminarimon in Asakusa, the atmosphere inside feels calm and relaxing. They offer a sukiyaki lunch set for 2,000 yen per person. The quality of the beef was very good, and the seasoning was well-balanced. It seemed to be Kanto-style sukiyaki, and even the rice was cooked really well. If you’re visiting Asakusa and looking for a reasonably priced Japanese lunch, this restaurant is a very good choice. A very unique traditional dining experience in Asakusa. At Sakurada, you sit around a traditional irori hearth and grill seafood, game, and seasonal vegetables over charcoal. The sound of the fire, the aroma from the grill, and the wooden Edo-style interior make it feel like stepping back in time. At the end of the meal, you can even light Japanese sparklers using the irori fire, which adds a special touch to the experience. A memorable way to enjoy Japanese food culture with all five senses.
