I’ll start off by saying that the food is excellent. If that is all you are looking for then this place is fine. I’m sure the take out is great. Now on to the criticism the service is not that great, we were seated and given menus, but we had to get our own utensils. This is not really a full service type of establishment, you pay at the register. They could use more efficient expediting, and then things would feel more welcoming. The second thing I was disappointed with, was one of the reasons we came here was for the Masala Dosa. They started off by saying no Dosa and no Biriyani available. We saw a couple walk out because there was no Dosa. We improvised our order to things we weren’t too excited about ordering, but both the beef curry and the butter chicken were tasty. The next thing that will prevent us from coming here for dine- in, in the future is the horrible smell in the bathroom and the temperature of the restaurant. We wanted to wash up before our meal, but the smell in the bathroom was gross. It looked clean, but there was definitely an odor. It was 42 F outside and the air conditioning was blasting cold air. I asked twice to shut it off because my kids were freezing and I was cold too, but it looked like all they were able to do was raise the temperature on the unit which helped only minimally. Really good food, but I think they will need to find a way to address some of the other issues. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the beef curry and butter chicken, even if they weren’t your first choices for the evening. We sincerely apologize that several aspects of your visit fell short of the experience we aim to provide. We understand how disappointing it is to visit specifically for Masala Dosa and Biriyani only to find them unavailable; we are currently reviewing our inventory and prep processes to ensure our signature dishes are more consistently ready for our guests. Your comments regarding the service model and the atmosphere are incredibly helpful. We are looking into the following improvements: • Service & Efficiency: We are evaluating our seating and expediting process to ensure utensils and service feel more seamless and welcoming. • Climate Control: It is never our intention for guests to be uncomfortable. We are having our HVAC system inspected to ensure we can better manage the indoor temperature during colder weather. • Facilities: While we maintain a strict cleaning schedule, we are investigating the odor issue you mentioned to ensure our restrooms are as pleasant as the rest of the dining area. We appreciate your honesty, as it helps us grow. We hope you’ll give us another chance to provide a much improved dine-in experience in the future, or perhaps we can serve you via takeout soon, thank you

I loved the people and the food. Authentic, flavorful, yet not too spicy Kerala food. I tasted the Angamaly mango fish curry - just enough tangy, light and aromatic. I had it with Malabar Partha - which is crispy. Soaking it in the fish curry and savoring it was divine. Food is fresh. They have authentic Kerala desserts as well. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Had a great meal at Salkara Indian Restaurant. They specialize in Kerala / South Indian food, and everything we tried was spot on. The menu includes classics like dosas and idli, along with standout dishes such as the tawa fish and mango fish curry. The flavors were very flavorful but still light, which I really appreciated nothing felt heavy or overly oily. The coconut chutney was very fresh, and the lime pickle had a great punch to it. On top of that, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a solid spot for South indian food in the area Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Naan
