Salt Peanuts is a seasoned pub and bar located on the first floor of the Hirose Mansion, nestled in the bustling area of Ikebukuro. It has a rich history of over 30 years, attracting a diverse crowd, including many solo visitors who enjoy its welcoming ambiance. The establishment is operated by a dedicated master, making it a favored spot for regulars.
The bar offers a range of alcoholic beverages, including beer and cocktails, catering to various tastes. Despite being known for its affordable prices, Salt Peanuts does not compromise on quality. Its primary seating is at the counter, fostering a friendly and conversational environment. However, the food menu is limited, which may be worth keeping in mind if you're planning to dine extensively.
While Salt Peanuts has a lively and approachable atmosphere, it's worth noting that the venue is not equipped with wheelchair accessibility. Amenities such as restrooms are available, but details about operating hours remain unclear due to the absence of recent updates from the establishment's owner. Located on a street often bustling with activity, Salt Peanuts remains a unique spot in Ikebukuro for those seeking a laid-back bar experience without the frills.

Amazing bar! Somewhere in Toshima City, not far from the Ikebukuro and Kanamecho stations, we found this bar that felt like a long exhale. The bartender, a quiet craftsman in shirtsleeves and vest, moved like he was mixing time itself — slow, precise, kind-eyed. A man who could balance Miles Davis and Steve McQueen on the same shelf and make it look natural. The room was a hush of soft light and cigarette smoke, the air touched with the perfume of Japanese whisky and the bite of Scotch. We sat there feeling like the big city had finally stopped spinning. No rush, no noise, just the sound of ice in a tumbler and the gentle voice of the bartender saying, “Okawari ikaga desu” Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

大通りに面したバー 1階でガラス張りなので外から見るとかなり暗く見えますが、店内に入ると程よい明るさです。 寡黙なマスターが一人で営業されている感じでした。 カクテルは中々本格的でした。 Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000
