Stopped for a couple margaritas. The jalapeno margarita was excellent. Great late evening stop with the outdoor bar. Service at the bar was fast and courteous. I imagine it could get crowded there but wasn't bad while I was there. A sign for the bathroom could be helpful. Meal type: Other Price per person: $10–20

Went to the Salty Rim with 11 of us (5 adults/6kids) We asked an employee downstairs prior to getting all the kids out if they could accommodate us at one table, or a few tables next to each other. The employee went to ask, and came back and said they could, so we proceeded inside. Once upstairs they split us into 3 tables, one table which was on the complete opposite side of the restaurant. We asked if we could just take 2 chairs and put it at one of the other tables so we could all sit together, in which they told us they couldn’t because they had a 10 top coming in they needed chairs for. Mind you, the entire inside was empty tables. We specifically asked if they could accommodate us, was told yes, then denied what we had asked and was told they could accommodate. We left, and went to Corolla Cantina instead, which is right around the corner, and way more accommodating and inviting! If you have a large group, they don’t want your money at the salty rim. Take your money to Corolla Cantina, where they happily will accommodate! EDITED AFTER OWNER REPLY: We never asked for one table, I specifically said at multiple close tables if one table was unavailable. We also asked permission every step of the way, and never moved chairs. Two of us were seated on opposing end of the restaurant. You could have let us sit at the table we originally were at closest to our group but instead decided to move us across the restaurant. We chose to drop over $400 at another restaurant that had no issues accommodating our group. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We apologize for the frustration and appreciate your feedback. Upon arrival, your party was informed that we were unable to safely accommodate everyone at a single table due to spacing limitations and fire code requirements. Our staff also explained that moving tables and adding additional chairs in the area would create a safety hazard and block walkways for both guests and staff. Unfortunately, after being advised of this and you began moving chairs around from surrounding tables, which further created unsafe conditions within the dining area. For the safety of all guests and to comply with occupancy and fire safety regulations, our team had to enforce those limitations. We always do our best to accommodate larger groups whenever possible and appreciate your understanding that guest safety must remain our priority.

Rex was excellent at service and conversation. As our first time, we did not know what to expect. We had Salty Rim margaritas, the chip and dips appetizer (chorizo queso was cloud like cheesy deliciousness), quac, and salsa. All made in house and excellent across the board. Chips were light but sturdy enough the support the main event dips. We had shared both a cod and a shrimp burrito which were all inclusive of black beans, rice, and the protein with the chosen watermelon mango salsa. Love the burritos all in one like that without separating rice or bean side dishes. Very substantial. We’d do this again soon. Again, thanks to Rex for his hospitality. Loved the accessibility beach access ramp at the end of the road, too. Very thoughtful and thankful for Currituck County making someone’s beach experience possible with the easy ramped access and handicap parking. Stop by. You won’t regret it.
