This was my 4th time going to Sam Chic- I normally like it, but I’ve seen some reviews about bad service and experienced that last night. Our main waitress was nice, but she cooked all the meat for us (every other time I’ve had Korean BBQ you get to cook your own meat, it’s part of the fun). Not all the beef was fully cooked (it’s beef, so not a huge issue, but still) and half the veggies were practically raw still. Then the grill was turned off. It would have been nice to have the option to control the cooking a bit more. One other woman working there, when we asked if we could have more lettuce, she told us the kitchen was closed. For lettuce! We weren’t asking for another meat platter! And, they were still offering dessert, so the kitchen wasn’t entirely closed. This same woman at the end came and asked if we were done and practically immediately started throwing everything into the center grill area to take it away. My boyfriend thought the issue might be that we got there too late in the night, as our reservation was at 9pm. But if that is how you will rush and treat your customers at that time, then don’t accept reservations that late? I think I will be trying a new place next time I want KBBQ.
