Rino is a great guy, I've been going to both places for 40 years, live up north now, but every time I would come down to see my dad,I'd stop by, this is not good, I'm in shock, just don't belive it.

So so so tragically sad. Three generations of Burlingame High are in mourning from here to Alabama. I was so disappointed to hear of the closing, and that I was unable to get my last fix. June and Reno, my biggest regret is not being able to say goodbye. Your wonderful faces have brightened my darkest days, even when my Mom would special deliver it to UCSF! (June would pack it in parts so it wouldn't get soggy on the way) After chicken broth, Sam's was the first solid food I ate. You provided so many wonderful opportunities and have been part of so many happy occasions. Even a trip to Washington Park was magical with a Sam's in one hand, macaroni salad and a fresh fountain coke in the other. If I think about it I can still taste it! But I won't be able to see your beautiful faces. I hope you and your family are well! And I hope every venture in your future is as rewarding as your presence in Burlingame. RIP Sam's. All the cool kids at my elementary school back in the day had their mom's deliver them Sam's for lunch. As an adult, it was always a treat to come on a weekend for a Sam's Special. Best of luck to Rino and June in their future endeavors; hopefully this and other five-star reviews serve as an epitaph for this cross-generational community staple and hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop which will be dearly missed.
