Neighborhood tonkatsu, walking distance from araiyakushimae station. We drive from fujikawaguchiko and settled down at the homestay then decided to get a quick dinner nearby. We stumbled across this shop near the station. Helmed by couple, speak no English. We were greeted and welcomed to the seat despite language barrier. It was Saturday night, there is one table with a man and lady drinking and chitchating. We look thru the menu and with translation app help, had a brief chat with the boss for recommendation. 【point】 ・Roast cutlet set meal around 1350 yen ・Smoking allowed ・There is a counter so you can easily eat alone. 【thoughts】 I entered this store because the logo mark (Santa chain?) was cute. The inside of the store is quite cluttered (to my liking). Yamazaki's bread is prepared in hot water in front of the seat we were guided to. Is it bread crumbs? lol By the way, there is a tonkatsu restaurant, but it was thriving at night as if it were an izakaya. As for the taste, the bread crumbs in the batter are super coarsely ground, which might be good for people who like that kind of thing. The reason for this place's popularity is probably the personality of the general and his mother. Although it was my first time, the two of them were so friendly that I thought I had been here several times before.
