Nice place with a beautiful view. just beside the beach. It's really great to be sitting on tarase on a sunny day and enjoy this lovely landscape . Don't forget to visit this place when you in Port Salon

The Pier Restaurant and Stores Olde World Bar and Lounge in Portsalon are family owned and a splendid stop on the way to or from Fanad Head and Fanad Lighthouse. Yer man Séamus, who runs it, pulls the smoothest, most delicious pints of Guinness in all Ireland - even better than St. James Gate Guinness Brewery itself. - really not exaggerating here. You can sit in the lounge by the coal fire and picture windows and catch a memorable view overlooking the pier and the Swilly. It is very relaxing and the food was good. But, the pints were divine. There are historic pictures and nautically themed items on the walls and shelves. There is a céilí dance floor in the larger room in the back. Overall, it may not seem that inviting from the outside. But, inside it is warm, cozy and friendly. There's also a wee flat-screen telly over the door by the bar where they were watching the Six Nations Rugby at the time. Splendid place for a unique Irish experience and a pint or two of "The Black Stuff."
