After seeing Cheong Fatt Tze - The Blue Mansion, it may be a nice idea to visit this restaurant. People may eat good king prawns, curry laksa and roasted duck at Sarkies. Do not go away without eating nicely cooked ice cream cakes, pancakes and pudding. Come here and have delicious michelada or good beer. It's a must to try great cold coffee, apple juice or fruit juice while visiting this place.

The intimate atmosphere of this spot allows customers to relax after a hard working day. A number of reviewers suppose that the staff is creative at this place. Service at this restaurant is something one can call prompt. A lot of guests think that the dishes are offered for attractive prices. You will be pleasantly surprised by the lovely decor. Sarkies has received Google 4.3 according to the visitors' opinions.

One of the nicest buffet experiences in Penang — not just for the food, but the whole atmosphere. The sea-facing view during sunset was honestly stunning The buffet spread was huge with different stations from sushi and sashimi to seafood on ice, noodles, char kuey teow, Chinese dishes, salads, cheeses, and desserts. Everything looked very well presented and constantly refilled. The seafood section was definitely one of the highlights Fresh salmon sashimi, tuna, oysters, prawns, and shellfish — all super fresh and chilled properly. Loved that they also had live cooking stations, so food came out hot and fresh. Ambience felt elegant but still comfortable. Perfect spot for a slow dinner with family, date night, or even a celebration dinner. Service was attentive and the staff were friendly throughout the evening. A little pricey, but honestly worth it for the selection, quality, and experience. Definitely one of those places you go for the full experience, not just the food Meal type: Dinner Price per person: RM 200+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place is one of the best LUNCH buffets I have been to recently. I think it beats and offers more value than the more expensive hotel chains. However it does come with their imperfections Booking is easy via phone, couldn't get the website to work The table was already set and already water on the table and off you go. As expected they have a wide range of food covering the whole of Malaysia generally Pros: enough tongs for the main courses They restock food and clear plates pretty quick, like within 5 mins or so Everything is freshly cooked Large variety to cater for all tastes we liked the Chow kway Teow, roast duck/chicken, Salmon/tuna sashimi, mussel green curry, Biryani, Steamed fish, chili Razor clams, lamb curry amongst others Cons: Limited drinks to water, iced fruit tea, coffee and tea. You can order soft drinks but you will likely need to pay The automated coffee machine takes a few years to give you 1 cup which is silly given the turn around needed The beef dishes, especially the fresh cut joint, even with some pinkness, it is dry and over done imo. Also a bit chewy at times too The anchovy fritters were not pleasant, rubbery chewy dough balls, more dough than anchovy. The Ice cream section was a mess. One scoop for all the flavours, means all the flavours were mixed around because people didn't know how to use the scoop properly. You should provide one scoop per flavour to avoid this issue and reduce queues as well or have someone to man this station. In summary Good value and large selection and the dishes we wanted were very good We will come here again soon Edit we went again and found the beef to be much better. But the issue with the ice cream station exists Meal type: Lunch Price per person: RM 120–140 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

VERY AVERAGE FOOD - STOMACH UPSET (21/12/2025) We tried to book earlier in the week, but they were fully booked until today, so they seem to be doing something right. Not very many European customers; the offering seems to be aimed squarely at Chinese/Malaysia customers. Two roasts on offer, beef and lamb; the lamb was good, but the beef contained a lot of tough sinew that had to be cut out. Fresh seafood was limited to mussels, prawns and salmon/tuna sashimi; other pre-cooked asian dishes to the rear of the room also contained seafood. Only tried the prawns and these were absolutely tasteless. Tried a few of the pre-cooked dishes; OK, but nothing special. Similarly, the noodles were OK, but nothing special. Some of the deserts were good, but when the masses finished their mains after about an hour, the deserts quickly disappeared and weren't replenished. THE TABLE WATER TASTED ABSOLUTELY VILE - UNDRINKABLE. When the best think about a buffet is the coffee you end it with, it is not a good sign. The kids and myself couldn't think of one dish we really liked and all agreed that the local Claypot Restaurant offered much tastier dishes at a fraction of the cost. Then there is the noise; for the first hour it was bearable, but as people came to the end of their meals it became deafening. On an up note, the waiting staff were generally excellent (the dark girl with short hair was outstanding); the serving staff could be a bit friendlier and try to pretend they enjoy their jobs. On a down-note, I later found myself rushing to the toilet. It's been one of those holidays. We wouldn't visit Sarkies again; others may enjoy.
