Wow. Speechless. Amazing. Beautiful. Matcha was incredible. I got the salty earl grey one with almond milk. Then the sandwich. My goodness this was just what I needed. Substituted the lamb patties for a chicken cutletadd a lil chili, and you have the best sandwich on the block (literally) Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: Fully accommodated a nut allergy !

Coming from Melbourne you can be snobbish and think you’ve seen it all. Clearly we had not. Easily the best sandwich we have ever had (and there’s a sandwich epidemic back home). Couldn’t fault these only that we have to jump on a plane to enjoy. Worth every penny, pure joy in every bite. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Sarni has been on our food radar for some time and so we were keen to finally get here. To sum up the experience - it’s well overhyped. I’ve been consuming food for almost 37 years now, and so I feel quite versed in the action Until today. We tried the Smoked Brisket sandwich and the weekend special; Pork Cheek Carnitas with a side of Beef Tallow Chips. While the Smoked Brisket was a decent sandwich, it lacked any real pop of flavour. But it was the pork sandwich that was the real disappointment here. It felt like we paid $30 for a soggy sandwich made of 80% bread that fell apart during the first bites. There was absolutely no hope in dipping this in the Aguachile that came on the side - why would you want to make any more difficult to eat? Besides that, the dip just tasted like watered down herbs and spilled all over the plate due to the flimsy container it came in. By the second half I just ended up picking out the bits of fairly standard, but tender pork to eat. To give some credit, the Beef Tallow Chips were a standout, but for $12 a plate - they would want to be. We purchased 2 x sandwich’s, 2 x cans of coke and a plate of chips totalling $87 (including Sunday surcharge). We left feeling thoroughly ripped off. Maybe it was a mistake getting the “weekend special”, and perhaps trying another of their sandwiches would leave us with a better experience, but for the price, we unfortunately will not be back to find out.
