The first word that comes to mind? Ghetto. And honestly, that’s a shame because the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. The potential is THERE… the execution, however, apparently called out sick. We specifically came for a special go-go show they were advertising. Fast-forward an hour and a half to TWO HOURS later and… still no show. No announcement. No explanation. Just rap music and patrons twerking on, around, and possibly spiritually connected to the dance floor. Meanwhile, the drinks were $20 a pop, which is a bold price point considering the evening was giving considerably less than advertised. For $20, I at least expect the cocktail to come with the show we were promised. To round out the experience, the female security guard outside had the personality of a parking meter, which paired beautifully with one of the female bartenders who seemed equally thrilled that customers had entered the building. Such a beautiful venue with SO much potential, but the overall experience was chaotic, overpriced, and nothing like what was advertised. We came for the go-go show and apparently ended up at Twerk Night: The Unauthorized Musical. Needless to say, one visit was plenty. Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: $40–50

I went to Sax’s disco burlesque show and it was such an amazing show there's nothing like it in the dmv. The dancers, acrobats, and fire performers put on such an amazing show. The theatre is so luxurious and gorgeous, perfect for pictures. It is such an elevated experience that has everything you could wish for; music, drinks, entertainment, and even a dance floor! Definitely a place I will be coming back to.

I rarely leave reviews, but what happened at SAX Restaurant & Lounge on New Year’s Eve deserves to be called out. Posh advertised the NYE event as having FREE tickets — no fine print, no conditions, no warnings. The site looked polished and professional, so we trusted it and made plans around that information. When we arrived, dressed up and ready to celebrate, we were suddenly told at the door that we had to pay $60 per person to get in. That is the definition of false advertising. We showed the staff the website. They didn’t deny what it said — they just insisted we had to pay anyway. At that point you’re already there, it’s New Year’s Eve, and your options are either cough up the money or have your night completely ruined. That’s not a mistake — that’s a scam. To be clear: no hate to the security guards. They were polite and were clearly just following instructions. This is a management problem. Someone made the decision to mislead customers online and then pressure them at the door when it was too late to go elsewhere. If you advertise free tickets, they should be free. Not “free until you show up and then we charge you.” Extremely disappointing and dishonest business practice. I won’t be returning, and I strongly recommend others think twice before trusting what this venue advertises.
