It is a sad day! I think they are closed for good. No valid phone and the building has paper on the windows. Please say you are just closing for renovations! :(

I’ve lived around the corner for 7 years and had known this place had solid recommendations. Somehow today was the first time I made it there. I’ll be bringing friends with me next time, soon. I had a la tripleta as it’s what I’ve heard is the thing to order. It was delicious. Heavy on the meat, which is kind of what the point is. But for me the bread was the winner. Crusty delicious for my first half. Saved the second half for later and it was deliciously chewy. Loved it.

I ran into the lovely couple and owners of Sazón Criollo at a party back in July. They told me about their restaurant. I said, finally some friendly competition with the established Spanish/Puerto Rican Restaurants in the area.
I was blown away by the dinner plate I had: arroz con gandules, carne frita, habichuelas guisadas and choice of tostones or salad. I chose salad.
My friend had same but with pulled pork.
We both agreed it was delicious. For me, the winner was the side order of beans. Made exactly as they do back on the island. And la carne frita, OMG. It was just like my mom cooked it.
Loved the dine in experience. Friendly service. Did not have to wait too long.
My hopes is that Sazón Criollo continues to grow and becomes a staple not only in the community but also in the City of Good Neighbors.
