Food was solid. I probably wouldn’t return as the food was solid, just not the best value for the price. The service was incredible and I loved the vibe. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $30–40

We had a late lunch 1:30 pm Wednesday July 08 2026. We came here specifically yesterday and have happily eaten here multiple times over many years. No one was at the front entry to greet us (unusual). Restaurant was almost empty. Hot,stuffy and air was stagnant inside the restaurant. Hot and humid outdoors (34°C). Oddly, no A/,C or overhead fans in any of the four rooms ( two small upright oscillating fans - one for staff behind back counte). When asked, the staff indicated that SCHOOL Restaurant NEVER had overhead fans or A/C. Your ice te was great - I did not even require any sugar . ' "Grown Up" Grilled Cheese Shredded parmesan, gooey mozzarella, spinach & artichoke, toasted sourdough $22 ' - misleading description and there was nothing " gooey " about it. So so disappointing. Service was slow and we were assigned a new staff person who was clearly "trying " but was struggling yesterday. Instead of being familiar, comfortable and charming , the entire setting just seemed "tired". Sadly, we will never return. The fact that the staff and clients must endure the humid hot atmosphere while serving and eating is unfair and unpleasant for all involved. A cooling system upgrade is needed asap. Perhaps a system where new staff are mentored longer would help them adjust to their new job. Presentation skills are so important in guiding clients. I hope this review is helpful.
