The only reason this wasn't a 5 all-round was it took quite a while for food to get to us. I assume it was due to telephone orders but a suggestion is to let customers know they'll have a wee wait. Food was great and plenty of it and when I asked the wee girl to heat what was left of my tea up cos it had gone cold she kindly offered me another cup. Also they had run out of mushrooms and gave us a free dessert to take home. Great wee place and we'll be back. I have a suggestion regarding the caramel shortcake that the girl makes herself. It's really nice. The base is great and the top is nice and thick. The caramel needs to be more caramel and less condensed milk fudgy. Add syrup into the butter, sugar and condensed milk and I guarantee you a more caramel middle. Not a critisim to your recipe but a Scottish addition if you want to try it. Visited today for a large breakfast, and it was delicious, everything was cooked to perfection. But the main thing that stood out for me was the service! I have not visited a cafe in years where the staff were so polite and helpful, the young lad and lass on the counter were genuinely lovely! I even got a fruit scone to take home for later! Attempted the scran slam, very nearly succeeded, but alas the food got to me. It was one of the best Full English I’ve had, but don’t think I’ll be having another for a long time after this speed challenge. I will probably be back for a normal sized breakfast in the future.
