This is one of the best yakitori, tsukune I have had in my life. I was slightly disappointed that they don't do charcoal but chef's innovative technique and skill makes every order unique and special. The tsukune is to die for. Perfectly balanced, every bite is an epitome of pure Japanese philosophy and evolution. I would come back to Tokyo, & this very spot just for this. Have I told you about the Japanese sake yet?

Blissfully delicious yakitori in a chilled local authentic atmosphere. Showed up 8pm on a Saturday without a reservation and was seated immediately at the counter, where I could witness the deliciousness being prepared. I went through 10 skewers, edamame, and a mountain’s swamp (たくさん!) worth of sake and every bite or sip was heavenly. If I have to choose standouts the thigh, manganji pepper, and charred to the nanometer between luxurious and carcinogenic chicken skin, amazing! For those who go beyond a typical Western palette, the liver was EXQUISITE. It’s not for everyone, but I’ve lived in Japan for four years and this was the best. Perfectly marinated, ever so slightly grilled, every bite was the very definition of umami. うまい! I asked the staff for their sake (日本酒) recommendations and was not disappointed. Perfect libation on a summer evening. I wouldn’t call this place foreigner catering or foreigner shunning, there is an English menu and staff are awesome. But I was the only gaikokujin in the joint and I think it would be great to come with a Japanese speaker OR some patience, interest, and empathy. Fantastic meal. ごちそうさまでした!!!
