This is just based on my first two visits, one of which was all of three minutes long, because I went on the wrong day. I was informed by the bartender that day to watch Facebook for the specials of the day to be posted each day, which they are. Let me tell you: this is another dive bar where the kitchen is no joke at all. Yes: they have bar food. Having said that? It's definitely elevated bar food, if in fact you can even classify it all as such. Tonight, I found out that they were serving NE clam chowder, and I've been hankering for some good soup all week. If they were going to impress me with their food, this was going to be their best chance. Believe me: they did. I spent $28 on food there tonight, including tax and tip, and I ate *well*. What'd I have? I had that clam chowder...and I had it *twice*. Full bowls, each time ($5.95 per bowl), and while the bowl is a bit on the smallish side (I had no problem at all polishing off both of them, easily), the quality of that soup is spot-on wonderful. It is a thing of beauty when you can get me to hark up $6 twice for a bowl of soup. Inspired, even. I do wish there had been some breadsticks or a roll or something to go with them (saltines were included, but I won't bother eating those...), but the soup itself was stinking marvelous. A-minus/A territory. Lots of clams, a broth just the right amount of salty, potatoes...yep. Nailed it, and nailed it well. But it's just soup, and I'm still hungry, or if I don't have anything more, I'll *be* hungry later on tonight, so I needed to order something more. How about I check out their BLT with chips, at $9.95? Done, and that was impressive, too! The bacon was all prepared fresh (it does take a few minutes to prepare...this isn't a five-minutes-and-it's-out kind of sandwich), and the veggies were nice, and the mayo was just the right amount. Want me to pick nits? Fine: I wish the bread had been toasted longer, and the bacon was a bit more crispy. Those are very, *very* picky nits...the sandwich was very good. Solid B/B+, here. Served with wavy potato chips, which functioned. Service from Jen the bartender (not the same person who helped me the first time I was there) was very nice. Zero complaints about the service level, even on a night when the place was honestly full. I ate comfortably at the bar, but there were *ZERO* parking spots available in their parking lot...I had to part on a side street adjacent. Not a big deal, but quite a surprise. I guess I came on a busy night, I was told. If you want elevated food, though, and their specials or menu looks good to you, based on my initial experiences, have no fear. This place will fit the bill nicely. I am completely happy with what I got for what I paid for it. Really. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
