My experience at Segundo Dining Hall was very upsetting. I found an insect inside the food, and when I reported it, I felt like the issue was not taken seriously. A food safety concern like this should be handled with respect, urgency, and accountability. Instead, I felt dismissed and treated like I was the problem for speaking up. Even worse, I felt like the situation was escalated against me and reported to OSSJA, rather than being handled as a legitimate food safety concern. I also felt like people were implying I had mental health issues instead of taking my report seriously. That was hurtful, unfair, and inappropriate. Students and customers should be able to report unsafe food without feeling blamed, intimidated, labeled, or punished. Because of this experience, I would be very cautious about eating at Segundo Dining Hall again. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Segundo Dining Commons loves to pretend they “switch it up” every day, but it’s all surface-level effort with zero real improvement. The food might look slightly different day to day, but it’s the same bland, low-effort meals repackaged with a new label. They rotate dishes just enough to claim variety, but you can taste the laziness. Quality stays low, flavor is forgettable, and after a week you realize it’s just the same cycle of mediocrity. For the amount students pay, the dining experience is honestly disappointing and repetitive. If you’re expecting decent meals or actual variety, prepare for a daily routine of disappointment.
