Septime, a hyperseasonal fine dining spot in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, offers innovative cuisine with elevated flavors and textures. The unassuming ambiance and rustic interior design create a relaxed atmosphere, but the small establishment can feel cramped at times. The price range is reasonable for the quality of food, though the portions may be small for some.

Septime's menu features simple ingredients that are creatively transformed into dishes such as marinated raw scallops with yuzu, grilled penny bun mushroom with sour cream and crispy beef, and poached fish fillet with orange, water grass, and capers. The restaurant also offers a surprise 5-course menu that highlights fresh and flavorful ingredients.

For drinks, Septime's knowledgeable sommelier offers a selection of organic and bio wines, including a St-Aubin from H. Lamy, and unique non-alcoholic beverages such as house-made juices. The restaurant also has a bar across the street, La Cave, where guests can purchase bottles of wine and vermouth.

While securing a reservation at Septime may be difficult, the experience is worth it for those seeking an adventurous culinary journey.

Michelin Guide rating

A MICHELIN star: cuisine of great finesse. Worth the step!
Simple standard.

Bursting with brilliant ideas, boundlessly fresh and effortless, passionate and a touch mischievous, yet always precise and refined: this iconic spot in eastern Paris, founded by the late Bertrand Grébaut and his partner Théophile Pourriat, embodies the very best of a generation of Parisian haunts that have both style and substance... Septime is a great time. Relaxed and lively atmosphere for a Michelin restaurant which is nice for a change. Feels like a place you can go to catch up with friends while eating great food, something not really common in most starred places. Service is not the most enthusiastic and most of the staff barely interacted with us. The only exception was the exceptional sommelier who was incredibly knowledgeable and just a joy to talk to. The wines are fairly priced and are all delicious. Every recommendation we got was better than the previous. A true master at work. Food-wise, I liked most dishes but wasn’t blown away by anything. I confess I was caught off guard by the 90% vegetarian menu. I knew going in it was their focus but didn’t expect it to be this much. You can tell the food is super fresh and well-sourced. Every dish was nicely balanced, flavourful and hitting the correct notes. Like I said before, there wasn’t a dish that gets you out of your seat, but the courgettes were definitely my best bite of the evening. Overall I recommend Septime and would definitely come back. Reservations are a must. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: €100+ Vegetarian options: Plenty, 90% of the menu is vegetarian

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in years. I genuinely struggle to understand how Septime holds a Michelin star. The food was overwhelmingly acidic — not just one unfortunate dish, but course after course. Everything seemed to be pushed so aggressively toward acidity that by the end of the meal it felt like my teeth were going to fall out. There was very little balance, and eating the menu became unpleasant rather than enjoyable. Unfortunately, the problems went well beyond the food. When it was time to pay, they brought us the wrong bill — we were a table of two and somehow received the bill for the table next to us, which had three people. What made the experience particularly disappointing was the response at the end. When we were paying, the staff asked how our experience had been. We told them frankly that it had been a disaster. They appeared concerned for a moment, but ultimately did absolutely nothing about it. No attempt to understand what went wrong, no meaningful response, and seemingly no real interest once we had answered the question honestly. For a restaurant with this reputation, price point, and a Michelin star, the entire experience was astonishingly poor. A complete waste of both money and time. I would not return and could not recommend it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: €100+ Vegetarian options: Mostly vegan. Little protein
