This pub (and all other Green King pubs in Edinburgh) is/are a disgrace and an insult to the once-great Belhaven brewery and its fabulous beers (the 70/- and 80/-), now no longer brewed. Instead they give us the truly awful keg 'craft beers', all of which are undrinkable. They have the cheek to call Belhaven Best their flagship beer. It's keg - no taste and no worth. The wonderful brewers of past decades at Belhaven, Dunbar must be spinning in their graves. Shockingly bad decision-making by Green King. Hang your heads in shame.

Currently sitting in the Shakespeare in awe at the young lad keeping it together despite members of staff not turning up. He's cool calm and collected and if doing a fantastic job despite how busy it is. I'd come back just to be served by him. Should have asked his name. Service: 5

Went in a couple of times .last time came across this rude cobby barmaid blonde hair a bit chubby who does not like to be disturbed when she is texting on her phone .Does not matter to her if people are waiting to be served. So much a rude cheap woman when mouth is opened could cause blue murder in a empty house should not work with the public in my opinion. I would not go back plus not recommend this bar if she is working there. In my opinion a bit of a low IQ level .
