You can place a bag containing up to 50 coins on the counter. According to the Coinage Act, this represents the maximum amount of coins that a shop or restaurant must accept. You can also pay with commemorative euro coins. A maximum amount of 200 euros applies. I paid 25 coins and the cashier was lazy and unhappy
