I came to fill up and use my end of the month Kroger points to get a discount of $1 gallon, needing 22 gallons. I went to ask the manager for help as pump wouldn’t work after taking my points for a deduction of $1 a gallon. Manager told me I needed to start over, I explained I would lose my discount. He assured me otherwise. Well, I lost the $22 discount (people, that would have paid for than 6 gallons of fuel) and manager apologized profusely trying to offer me a car wash or snacks or soda instead. I didn’t need a car wash or soda or snacks. “You’re rich.” He told me. What the ???? Really because I’m clean and in a skirt, I’m rich and don’t need my discount????? Why could he not just give me the $22 I don’t know, he was the manager. Why couldn’t he give me a $22 gift card, I don’t know. He followed me out to my truck kept offering snacks and car washes. He settled on “I’ll give you $5 next time you come back.” He didn’t ask my name or write anything down just kept offering snacks, sodas, car washes. “I just want you to be happy.” wow
