In June, I stopped at the Biegener Hellen Nord parking lot on the A12 motorway, and my review is solely based on the parking spaces, which I consider to be among the best I've used in Germany. My rating was primarily influenced by the parking lot's organization. The operator designated parking spaces for trucks, buses, cars, and campers—standard practice in any parking lot—but also limited the width of the driveway with concrete "protections." This prevents trucks from parking in spaces reserved for cars and campers. The parking lot is very large, and the individual parking zones are separated by plenty of greenery, providing good insulation from the noise that always accompanies truck parking lots. The restroom was clean, but that could have been due to the early hour and low traffic. The drawbacks include the small number of restrooms for such a large parking lot and the lack of showers, which truck drivers would appreciate. Other drawbacks include the unmown tall grass, a breeding ground for vipers that bask in the warm asphalt during the day.
