Shigetsudo is a Japanese dessert shop located at 2 Chome-6-15 Sue, in the city of Gojo. Known for its ayu-shaped sweets made in the likeness of young sweetfish, Shigetsudo crafts these delicacies with apparently high precision and is noted by visitors for the refreshing addition of yuzu-flavored mochi filling. While many local establishments offer similar treats inspired by the ayu found in the nearby Yoshino River, Shigetsudo's confections have received favorable feedback for their freshness and distinctive taste.
The dessert shop opens every day from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, ensuring ample time for anyone wishing to enjoy their offerings or make a quick visit. There are limited service options, with no delivery service or wheelchair-accessible parking currently offered. Despite the popularity of their specialty, it appears there might be a benefit to pre-order or reserving these treats given visitor accounts hinting at their desirability. However, do note that the available information about Shigetsudo and its offerings is somewhat sparse, with a noticeable lack of recent updates or reviews from more recent visitors or the establishment itself.
If you decide to stop by while in Gojo, Shigetsudo is conveniently located in a shopping area just a few minutes from Gojo Station. Patrons commonly mention the shopping street as a charming part of the experience, enhancing a trip to this dessert spot. Currently, further details on emerging offers or services from Shigetsudo are not readily available, so it might be best to check directly with the store during your visit if additional inquiries arise.
