Amazing quality, generous portion, truly authentic Taiwanese food! I lived in Taiwan for 22 years and the fried chicken here honestly taste better than a lot of the places in Taiwan!

I think this might be the original Shihlin that opened in the Bay Area or maybe the South Bay. I'm not too sure... But it was my first introduction to Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks. Located in Milpitas Square it's a typical storefront in the plaza. What sets it apart is the diminutive size of the venue and the lack of seating. The inside has a small bar are with two or three stools and there is a picnic bench and a couple of tables in the ally outside. Most of the orders are to go. Taiwan Street Eats: ~ Popcorn Chicken 鹽酥雞 - 5/5 My favourite item here and my go to spot fro Popcorn Chicken. Initially, I thought it was pricier than other spots that serve Popcorn Chicken. However you get a lot, I mean enough for a meal! The Popcorn Chicken here is perfect. Juicy and tender on the inside while Crispy and flavorful on the outside, fried to perfection! ~ Popcorn Chicken Rice Box 鹽酥雞飯 - 4/5 The Popcorn Chicken meal wasn't as good as I was hoping. There is a lack of consistency. Sometimes the veggies were a bit under cooked, while everything else was brilliant. Good size meal. ~ JiaYi Chicken Rice 嘉義雞肉飯 - 3/5 The Shredded chicken is OK. It doesn't stand out for me. I got this once, and never tried it again. Stick with the fried Chicken. ~ Treasure Rice Box 招牌便當 - 3.5/5 Good size meal. While the Chicken was cooked to perfection, I got some The under cooked veggies with this one as well... ~ XXL Chicken Thigh 雞腿肉 - 4.5/5 Juicy chicken thighs fried to perfection with a good amount of seasoning. Good size portions, you definitely get an XXL. ~ Oyster Mee Sua 蚵仔麵線 - 4/5 Eat this while its hot or at least warm. I most definitely don't recommend eating this when cool or room temperature. Its tasty, but a bit on the salty side. I'm not sure what the base of the soup is made off...I think its Soy Sauce based. I do wish it had more oysters instead of 3. ~ Mee Sua Only 纯麵線 4/5 It's the same thing as the Oyster Mee Sua, just without the oysters. I come here regularly, no complaints...

Hi Michael, Appreciate for your review and detailed comments. Yes, our Milpitas store is the original store opened in Bay Area 7 years ago. It also has the smallest kitchen and front area; that is why our night-market style street food are meant for Togo. Everyday we make our broccoli like salad style, cooked it then iced it. So it is a fresh but cold dish rather than a warm side order.
