We stopped by this restaurant as part of a food-and-drink hopping tour. Since they stay open all day, we visited around 3 p.m., outside the peak hours. Even though the restaurant wasn’t full, it still had a lively atmosphere — thanks to the presence of the restaurant’s famous, energetic “okaasan.” The sheer number of handwritten posters and signs covering the walls is incredible — it makes even the quirky signs at Ramen Matsuura look modest. What we ordered Hiyashi Chuka (Cold Ramen) – ¥1,045 Stir-fried Seasonal Chinese Vegetables – ¥1,045 Authentic Sichuan Mapo Tofu – ¥1,155 Sichuan-style Spicy Fried Chicken with Chili Peppers – ¥1,320 Each dish had that nostalgic, slightly junky charm typical of local Chinese diners, while still delivering authentic spiciness and bold flavors. The kind of taste that stimulates your appetite, making you want to eat more and more — and before you know it, you’re full. It’s a comfortable, welcoming restaurant, clearly loved by many regulars.
