I stayed around Ikebukuro and came across this izakaya on my way to the hotel. It’s a chicken-focused place with great drinks. The fried chicken skin was slightly sweet and went perfectly with beer, but my absolute favorite was Doru Yaki—charcoal-grilled chicken offal served with a green sauce. It was the most impressive dish of my entire trip, and I would definitely come back for it again. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We didnt have a reservation and got there at 8pm. It was completely full but table for 2 opened up a few minutes later. There is no English at all but I speak enough Japanese to get by. Everything is super cheap and its a great pre game spot. The chicken skin skewers are 50yen and asahi beer is 290yen. The place was packed and smell amazing.
