Once the promenade around the Kennin-ji Temple is over, visit Shinjo. A number of guests of this restaurant state that perfectly cooked beef is offered here. The professional staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. As for the Google rating, Shinjo received 4.4.

We happened to walk by this place by chance and were so grateful we stopped by. And even luckier that they were able to accommodate us because it was definitely the best ramen I have ever had. There were only 2 things available when we got there, which were hot ramen and beef croquette, we ordered both and both were superb! Definitely would go back next time we are able to visit Kyoto. We walked pass this place without any expectation. There were an English menu. We ordered the fried chicken, the fried beef as an entree and The Cold Ramen was the main. The cold ramen was so delicious. It has so much flavour in each bite. If you want a traditional Japanese meal, it's definitely the place. The Cold Ramen was 1200 yen. The fried chicken was 400 yen. It served with 3 pieces. Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
