EDIT: We are not being misleading. No-one is allowed to park anywhere in Scotland if it causes an obstruction. Safety must come first and 'parking must not cause a danger or block other road users and pedestrians'. This is the lawThanks Josh, for your comment, but I assure you we have not made anything up. The yellow lines have been put outside The Ship Inn as a safety precaution and also to help with traffic congestion. They were put there by Fife Council and we are only following their instructions. I am not sure if you are a blue badge holder or not, but if you are, you will know that in Scotland blue badge holders, or indeed anyone, are not, by law, allowed to park on double yellow lines when it causes an obstruction. If you have seen traffic on The Toft during the summer you will know how quickly there becomes complete chaos if people park on these double yellow lines.Of course, people are allowed to use these lines for loading and unloading passengers and bags but they are not, I am afraid, allowed to park there.
