On Thursday 30th July. We walked in to the ship at 10 pm for a quick drink. There were multiple other customers inside yet when we walked in the staff were not welcoming at all (two women at the bar). We are a group of 5 quiet, sober 22 year old women who just wanted a quick drink after dinner! The whole time we were there we felt uncomfortable. 3 of us went to bar, again, we were glared at as if the staff just wanted us to leave. One of us ordered a £6.90 glass of wine, and 2 got a tap water and we sat down. The whole time the wine was being bought the bar staff were just plain rude. We are paying customers that just wanted to have a quick drink and chat in the pub. Then we sat down, a man came over seemingly frustrated with us too, to check everyone’s IDs. He then told us quite harshly that we’d all need to buy a soft drink which we weren’t told before and had not been asked to that in any other pub. We had been in the pub for approximately 3 minutes when this happened, the rest of the group were planning to get drinks afterwards but we had only just got there. We ended up feeling so uncomfortable from start to finish of a 5 minute pub trip that we all decided to leave. We won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Hi ElishaI am very sorry that you did not have a nice experience here at the Ship Inn. The team work very hard to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable time. We do not however condone rude behaviour to our staff but i have explained to them that they need to remain professional when this happens. Thank you for your feedback
