Service was excellent and attentive. You can make a reservation in advance or try your luck as a walk up. Sunday evening wasn’t too busy and we were able to have the entire seating facing the window to ourselves. You order off a small menu or choose the omakase. They also have specials for the day. We ordered one nigiri of most of the options and it was a mixed experience in taste and quality. The salmon, tuna, hamachi, and albacore had top notch smooth and buttery textures. The flavors were good, not fishy, but fresh and delicious. The amount of wasabi was perfect for me - very up front and tasted like real wasabi. The rice was nice and vinegared, held together well, and was a good amount for the piece of fish on top. Unfortunately the uni was awful. It tasted like it had soaked up the flavor of the box. It tasted stale and had a very unpleasant and lingering aftertaste. The Wagyu was very chewy and not as pleasant to eat as I would have expected from a Wagyu. Prices are a bit high to go back again for this level of quality and experience, but some of the sushi pieces were a very nice mouthful Price per person: $70–80 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Shokunin is a phenomenal place to enjoy a wonderful meal. I took my daughters for a special date night and enjoyed the exquisite food they make. I recommend this place for everyone that wants to have a special time with their special people. The food will not disappoint. The atmosphere is very nice and the servers are very attentive. I especially liked the hostess named Summer. The chef's name was Christian and he came and asked our table if we enjoyed the meal and I thought that was very professional and kind to come and ask. Another person called Lorenzo also came to ask how things were and if we needed anything else, they are very professional place. And the pastry chef made some delectable delights so tasty. Be sure to make it one of your to go places when in Austin!!! Ohhh, restrooms were nice and clean every time we went. Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Vegetarian options: You will love the menu options! Dietary restrictions: I have restrictions and was able to eat everything! So yummy!

Shokunin is a great place to enjoy sushi. The head chef, Christian Garcia, was a joy to interact with and be served by. The bar is my favorite place to sit for an engaging dining experience. I’ve also sat at the tables and have had an equally enjoyable time. The music is good and not too loud as to allow you to still converse with friends. The hostess, Summer, was also pleasant and was able to get us seated right away. She really knows how to keep the show running. I will for sure be returning to shokunin and recommend it to my friends. Price per person: $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
