The male bartender was extremely rude. As soon as we walked in, he aggressively asked for our IDs. Then, while my cousins and I were looking through the food menu, he barely gave us a chance to read it before saying, "I'll take whoever is ready to make my life easier." That's not something paying customers want to hear. I ended up ordering a drink for myself while the guys were looking at the menu because they were doing a food hop, and us girls were doing a bar hop. During that time, the bartender came back to our table at least four times within about five minutes. Instead of being attentive, it felt pushy and aggressive, especially since they were still deciding what they wanted. I've been here a few times before, but after this experience, this will definitely be my last visit. The male bartender was extremely rude. As soon as we walked in, he aggressively asked for our IDs. I discovered Shorty's in September of 2011 and I raved about how wonderful a bar it was because of the pinball action. On my return visit to Seattle for the World Cup, I made sure to stop in for a pint and pinball. My cousin's got some hot dogs and touted them to be the best in Seattle. The bartender working on a Friday afternoon was friendly once we established ourselves, but the initial interaction was comical. It created a funny moment for us to joke about after. What happened was my cousin ordered a Hennessy and Coke, to which she responded, "We don't serve that kind of liquor here." I never bothered to check to see if they offered any kinds of cognac and he settled for rum. It feels like a lot of neighborhood locals hang out here. Price per person: $10–20

Heard they are known for their hotdogs but didn't get anything. Visiting from out of town and popped in for a night-cap and ended up staying a couple hours for pinball and cheap beer. Outdoor seating is available and staff are all friendly and helpful. Will be back next time I'm in the area. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
