A beautiful little spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine and amazing food. Visitors from Adelaide and twice in two weeks here, wonderful chat with the owner and staff around different styles of red wine, and lovely to try a couple of small samples before trying something new. What. A. Gem. I live literally next door to Sidebar, yet, I’ve never been in. Booked a table for Friday night — booking is definitely recommended as it can get quite busy. Our table as waiting for us and there was inviting lounge music coming out of the speakers. We were poured some water and given the menus. There’s a very good selection of smaller and larger share dishes. We opted for the saganaki, pork & wagyu meatballs, and calamari. Everything arrived at once and it was beautifully presented. The calamari was cooked perfectly. The saganaki was really delicious and I think it was covered in hot honey, as it had a beautiful spicy kick. The show stopper were the meatballs, which were juicy and packed with flavour. I had a couple of glasses of French rosé, my friend had Sangiovese, and my partner has one non-alcoholic drink and then a spicy cocktail, which he loved. The service, the food, the drinks, the ambience — everything was fantastic! I also loved the knowledge of our waiter — he knew the menu inside out, which was really good. We will be back, for sure!!
