I love Sigri’s! It’s truly my favorite South Asian restaurant and has made me fall in love with Sri Lankan food. We usually get the Chicken Biryani as it’s our favorite, but today I decided to try something new. I got the red rice and curry combo and the Dhal Curry. I never had either items before, so I did google to see what might be received. The Dhal Curry is lentil based and the red rice and curry combo appeared to be rice, veggies, and a protein. I recently got my order and while it’s good, I guess I assumed that for almost $18, you’d receive a meat protein (so chicken or fish). I think this is dhal curry, which is still protein, so meets the requirements based on Google research. However, it doesn’t feel like it meets the price value in my opinion. The store also doesn’t specify that this is a vegetarian option either, or else I wouldn’t have ordered both this and the dhal curry. Speaking of the Dhal curry, I like it! It tastes pretty good! I just wish that for the red rice and curry combo, they included a meat protein source or at least specify that it’s vegetarian. Even with the latter, it’s overpriced in my opinion. Solid, though I think I’ll just stick with the chicken biryani. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Delivery Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30

While traveling from Dubai to New Jersey as a solo traveler, one of my friends recommended Sigiri Restaurant, a Sri Lankan restaurant — and honestly, it felt like I was back home in Sri Lanka. The flavors, aroma, and taste of the food were exactly like authentic Sri Lankan homemade food. Every dish reminded me of home, and it was such a comforting experience during my trip. The restaurant was very clean, well organized, and had a really welcoming atmosphere. The Pushpe Aiya owner personally served the food and was very kind and friendly. Whenever we needed extra rice, he happily gave us more without charging any extra cost, which showed true Sri Lankan hospitality. We had lunch, dinner, and even bought some grocery items, and the total came to around $120 USD for 3 people, which was absolutely worth it for the quality and experience we had. Highly recommended for anyone who misses real Sri Lankan food while in New Jersey Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: 40 Aappa Hoppers, 6 Fish Rolls, Red Rice and Curry Combo Lunch, Chicken Kottu, Fish Rolls
