Visited Silk Route Malabe recently. The food portions are quite small compared to most restaurants, and the service was just moderate. Overall, it didn’t feel like good value for money mainly because of the portion sizes. Mix rice portion in this image is 2500 LKR. This is one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The service was extremely poor from start to finish. I ordered a seafood platter for five people, but the portion was nowhere near sufficient — it would barely serve two. Both the quality and quantity were far below even the most basic standards. The food was disappointing and not worth the price at all. The menu clearly needs serious revision, and the kitchen must significantly improve food quality. On top of that, the staff were unfriendly, inattentive, and did not listen properly to customers. Overall, it felt like the service itself was damaging the reputation of the business. We recently hosted our Gender Reveal function at Silk Route Restaurant, Malabe, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the very beginning, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We had originally planned our decorations on the rooftop, but due to unexpected heavy rain, we had to move everything inside the restaurant at the last minute. The staff quickly stepped in and rearranged all the tables and chairs to match our requirements, and did so without any hesitation. Their willingness to help and the effort they put into making sure everything went smoothly truly stood out. Honestly, I’ve never come across such supportive and kind staff anywhere else. Another highlight is that they don’t charge separately for the venue. As long as you order food and drinks from them, you’re good to go. Their prices are very reasonable and affordable, including options for ordering liquor, which was a big plus for us. A big heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Silk Route for helping us make our special day so memorable. Your support meant a lot to us, and we’re truly grateful!
