Simone, located in the charming old city of Rouen, is a fine dining spot that offers a limited choice of excellent dishes made of fresh products for reasonable prices. The menu changes weekly and features creative French cuisine with a focus on seasonal ingredients. The wine list is interesting with a good selection including by the glass. The interior seats about twenty and has a slightly anonymous feel, but the lovely terrace on the side of Saint-Maclou church makes up for it. The service is prompt and professional, and the owners, Marine and Charlie, are adorable.

Some standout dishes include the tartare of salmon with a note of acidity, the joue de boeuf (beef cheek) with a very light hollandaise sauce, and the choux (cream puff) with just the right amount of sweet caramel. The restaurant also offers an excellent vegetarian plate upon request. The wine pairing option is highly recommended, with a Crozes-Hermitage blanc being a standout choice. The prices are reasonable, and reservations are a must. Simone is a great place to enjoy a convivial evening with loved ones and indulge in the exquisite flavors of French cuisine.
