Simon's is a fine dining spot in Des Moines that serves up exquisite cuisine. The establishment boasts a cozy ambiance that is perfect for a romantic night out or a casual dinner with friends. The interior design is simple yet elegant, with dim lighting that sets the mood for an intimate evening. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food justifies the cost.
Located in an old strip mall, Simon's is a hidden gem that is worth seeking out. The restaurant has a separate storefront a few doors down where guests can wait for their table to open up. The owner, Simon himself, greets each guest with a warm smile and makes them feel at home.
The menu at Simon's is widely varied, with everything from pizza to lamb chops. The artichoke dip and beef stroganoff are especially noteworthy. The seafood bisque is a must-try, as is the steak de burgo. The house favorites are the Steak Deburgo and Beef Stroganoff. The pasta dishes are also exceptional, with the Beef Stroganoff being the best the reviewer has ever had.
Simon's has a full bar, with delicious cocktails like the house vodka/water with lime. There is no corkage fee on the first bottle of wine. The complimentary red velvet cake is a delightful way to end your meal.
Overall, Simon's is a top-notch establishment that is not to be missed. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is exceptional. It may be a bit pricey, but the experience is well worth it.
