We had Sunday brunch at Simple Simon's Bakery & Bistro yesterday, and it was an amazing experience! The place was packed with a long line inside, so we wisely grabbed a table first before they all filled up. We waited in line for about 20 minutes to order, but it was absolutely worth every minute. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory dishes, and everything tasted delicious with great presentation: Two Eggs Breakfast ($16): Classic and perfectly cooked, served with flavorful fried potatoes, applewood smoked bacon, and perfectly toasted sourdough. Triple-Berry Challah French Toast ($18.50): The standout sweet dish! The challah bread was beautifully stuffed with berry cream cheese and loaded with fresh strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries. Breakfast Croissant Club ($17.50): Massive and delicious, packed with flavorful homemade chicken apple sausage, two eggs, cheese, avocado, tomato, mayo, and a side of potatoes. We also grabbed a cookie, orange juice, and some coffees to round out the meal. If you are in downtown Riverside and don't mind a bit of a weekend crowd, this spot is an absolute must-visit. A perfect day - Two great museums and a fabulous lunch at Simple Simon's. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of pasta salad. Absolutely delicious! The service and atmosphere - very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be back.
