I was walking around the market and happened to see a Lebanese restaurant After a month of not eating hummus I told myself I had to taste it, especially in a restaurant that says it's Arab Lebanese Aslit I understand that we are not in Lebanon or the Middle East but as someone who lives and eats Arab food regularly this was quite jarring. Hummus with some parsley on top, no tahini, no tomato and onion on the side and pita bread that is not really pita bread In short, those who know Arab food won't like it, those who don't probably will Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: R$20–40 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Good afternoon, dear customer. Our comments on your evaluation, as a clarification, not only for you, but for everyone who may be reading this evaluation, so that they are not misunderstood: Firstly, we are the oldest Arabic restaurant in Rio de Janeiro, this month we are celebrating 56 YEARS since the founding of Sirio e Libanês, with a lot of pride, hard work and joy! Our pita bread is from the Bassil bakery, which makes the oldest pita bread in all of Brazil, for over 100 years, considered the best pita bread in Rio several times by specialized critics, the only wood-fired pita bread in Brazil. As for our Hommus bi tahini, we are Lebanese by birth, and in Lebanon, HOMMUS with tomato and onion is NOT served anywhere in the country, and under no circumstances. Therefore, we appreciate your comment, but we do not understand the criticism, it is unfounded.... As we noticed, your evaluation was in Portuguese and below in Hebrew as well, we soon realized that this could have caused the misunderstanding: probably, in Israel they use tomato and onion in the hummus, but we, as Lebanese and being a TRADITIONAL Lebanese restaurant, follow the traditions of Lebanon. If you wanted some tomato and onion, just ask the waiter and he would bring it, no problem and no additional cost. The same would go for extra parsley (we add a smaller amount of parsley because, in our experience, many people don't like it, so it's better to add less and, if the customer asks, take more) We hope that on a next occasion we can serve you better! The food is very good, but what is lacking are the bottles of olive oil. Very dirty. One wonders whether the olive oil is really original or whether the restaurant fills it with low-quality olive oil.
