Dogs Not allowed inside, which is not understandable anymore in 2026. Food is massively overpriced. The calamari come at 12 Euro for 4 Fried rings, dip was missing. Extramajo comes at 2,50 Euro and the Food is Not Even good. It’s pathetic. Lucky them there is nearly no competition around. Interior is nice, restrooms are clean. Price per person: kr 400–500 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

However, we have chosen not to allow dogs inside the restaurant in consideration of all our guests, and this is a policy we apply consistently. We would also like to correct one factual error in your review: our calamari is priced at NOK 89, not €12. Our prices are carefully calculated to reflect the quality of our ingredients, the cost of operating a small independent restaurant in Røros, and our commitment to serving good food at a fair price. We stayed in Røros during Easter, and we went here two nights in a row before heading to Trondheim. The people working there are amazing and very welcoming! The food is great too—from the meze to the entrecôte. The burger was also very good, with blue cheese and tyttebær, creating a nice mix of flavors. Thanks to everyone there, especially the restaurant manager, Charlie (if I remember the name correctly) Price per person: kr 300–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We arrived Røros late Thursday and asked locals for an unpretentious place to eat some quality food, and got recommended Skanckebua Bar & Restaurant. Was greeted by a very polite man and guided through local regulations regarding covid, and seated by the window. Server came immediately, was very attentive to our requests and there were smiles all around. Took our order when drinks were served (amazing local beer brewery) and food arrived shortly after. Onion rings, chili cheese poppers, tacos and fish'n'chips tasted really good, tacos were loaded from top to bottom of the stack - perfect! Was recommended to order extra fish by the server and took her advice. With the extra fish the portion was perfect, so maybe have that serving as standard?Met the chef after we finished eating, she was just as cool as the rest of the staff. Had a nice chat with them before we had to leave, very nice and welcoming people.Nice place, good food, excellent beer, top notch staff and perfect location. Look forward to coming back!
