Definitely worth a visit for first time visitors.  Great view of the city.  Parking garage nearby with only a short walk to the attraction.  Tickets are purchased with card transaction, cash was not accepted on my visit.  Two levels to enjoy the views, the lower level has a glass floor you can walk out on and look straight down.  Worth a look if you're in town.

The Space Needle is worth a visit for first time tourists. You get a nice view of the city at the top and also learn some history about the Space Needle. Once you take the elevator up, there are two levels. The top level allows you to walk out to the deck to get city views. Glass panels are installed for safety precautions and there are benches to sit on. The lower level has rotating glass floors, which you can stand on and see below. You can stay for as long as you like. Once you decide to leave, take the elevator down, which will bring you to the gift shop area for some post-Space Needle shopping.

The SkyCafe Observation Deck at the Space Needle is a great way to see all of Seattle in the round. On this visit, it was overcast and we were unable to see Mount Ranier. However, I was able to catch glimpses of it on m inbound flight and on a partly sunny day during my stay. The deck has the glass floor feature (included in fee), named The Loupe, that is pretty awesome. I knew I could do it as I had done so in Portugal. As always, it was a fun time getting out there to take photos. Through my fear, I didn't notice the rotating feature. The Skyrisers accentuate the view. These glass benches added a pretty exciting touch to the visit. I did not try them as it was a bit wet out that day. We were able to upload a photo and actually find the location for our dear Aunt Rose. She was over the moon (see photo). We also visited the Chihuly Garden and Glass facilities. The studio glass pieces of Dale Chihuly are absolutely stunning! This turned out to be the highlight of our trip. This is a must-see when visiting the Space Needle to witness the depth of the artist's talent.
