Such a great dive bar, it checks all the boxes - classic bar foods done very well, great drinks, large format beers, and comfy digs, with pool tables. Of course they have Fernet! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was turned away at the door more than an hour before posted closing time online. Door was open, people at the bar and music/lights were on. Posted hours on door also said closing at 11. Caused no stir, just quietly took one step in and was told they weren’t serving and left confused. Lived in Ballard my entire life and always wanted to check this place out, so I was honestly pretty disappointed to be turned away just because they were grumpy. Honestly would never come back to this place again because of this. I guess if you’re one of the locals who the owner knows and likes this place is great but if you’re not don’t exactly expect to feel welcomed here. Ballard is not short of fun bars to go to instead anyways. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I'm going to start by telling you I'm biased. I'm a Sloop Tavern Yacht Club member, so the Sloop feels like home. They don't have a liquor license, so it's just beer and wine. The food is typical bar food. But it's a great place to sit down with friends and a beer and play pool. The bartenders are always friendly, even to a bunch of rowdy sailors. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
