Small Victory is a speakeasy-style establishment in downtown Austin, offering classic and unique cocktails with a mid-century aesthetic. The ambiance is intimate and grown-up, perfect for a date night or catching up with a friend. The interior design is retro with a classy yet mysterious vibe. Small Victory is located behind an unassuming red door on 7th Street, adding to its secretive allure. Reservations are highly recommended, as seating is limited.
The bar is on the pricier side, but the quality of the drinks and service make it worth the cost. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, creating personalized cocktails tailored to each customer's taste preferences. Some of the standout drinks include the London Calling, Bourbon Old Fashioned, Saturn, and Trinidad Sour. The bar also offers a three-meat, three-cheese board for those looking to nibble while they sip.

Definitely liked some things about this place. But specifically asked about the summer happy hour. Guy asked what time it was and we were one hour before happy hour ended. Price was $12. Was charged the non happy hour price of $18. Different guy said that the drink I ordered was not on happy hour. The guy who took my order said it was. That’s not great business. Would have definitely returned… Now, not so much.

It was a humid summer evening. The beat of the Texas sun had dried my palette to the point of unquestionable thirst. My hubby and I were in desperate need of a martini to revive us for the evening. You know how it goes, only one way to order a martini. Dry gin 5:1 with a lemon twist. And the way Small Victory masterfully crafted it? My knees buckled. After a few of these tasty libations, we stumbled over to Firehouse Hostel. Behind the confines of a “bookshelf” door lied a nifty speakeasy with magic radiating in the air. We listened to soulful jazz as we sipped another dry martini. My knees didn’t buckle this time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
