I recently discovered this Afghan bakery and I’m absolutely in love with their breads and pastries. Everything tastes fresh, authentic, and clearly made with care. Oil bread (I tried three different versions) – absolutely heavenly! It’s so delicious that you can easily eat it on its own or simply with a cup of tea. Uzbek flat bread – the soft version is good, but it reminds me more of regular bread in texture and taste. The other one I tried is my favourite: crispy, crunchy, slightly buttery, and topped with nigella seeds. Delicious! Afghan bread – Nan-e Barbari – they have a white and a darker version. The darker one completely won my heart! It’s a bit firmer than the white one and seems to contain some bran. For me it’s fantastic. Bolani – I tried the potato and the leek versions. Both are tasty, but the leek bolani definitely won the hearts (and taste buds!) of both me and my husband. Rote (Afghan sweet bread) – it tastes almost like a cake. You can clearly taste the cardamom. It’s topped with nigella seeds and white sesame seeds. It’s not overly sweet, which makes it perfect with morning coffee or as an afternoon snack. I absolutely love it! They also have several kinds of cookies: corn, almond, pistachio, coconut, and date – all very tasty. Cream rolls – these are a real hit! No successful gathering or celebration is complete without them. I usually call ahead to place my order so I can be sure everything I want will be available and in the quantity I need. Highly recommended if you want to try authentic Afghan bakery products! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
