Fantastic food, wine and service. Not the cheapest place (not the most expensive either) but If you want something a little different for a treat this is the place. We went for a birthday and had suckling pig and secret pork. Both were cooked to perfection. With good wine and desserts we'll be back. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $80–90

First time visiting Socarrat, and it lived up to its reputation. For the tapas, we had the Galician octopus and the Broken eggs with serrano ham and potatoes. The octopus was tender and delicate, not overpowered by other ingredients. The eggs, ham, and potatoes were just comforting. For the entrees, we had the two Paellas to sample - the Seafood and chicken, and the Squid ink and seafood. For the traditional seafood and chicken paella, there was not much of the socarrat, the namesake of the restaurant, the crispy rice at the bottom of the pan. It was not disappointing, but it would have been nice to try this crusty piece. Maybe the chef can look into this. The service was fine. At lunchtime, we were the only table dining there. We had a wonderful experience and are looking forward to going back to try more dishes. Wow this place is incredible. Hands down, best paella in Houston. You must try all of them. Also, they were able to accommodate gluten allergy dietary restrictions which is hard to find, most restaurants in Houston do not take this allergy seriously. Though the menu is not labeled for allergies, our waitress was able to speak with the chef to confirm which items were safe and safe with cross contamination. Lastly, their basque cheesecake was delicious. Will definitely be back soon. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $80–90 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
